Placed at the end of the Vassielski island, the museum is housed in a building that was formerly the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange. The collection, one of the oldest in the city was once exposed in a wing of the Admiralty, on the other side of the Neva. If the museum in 1805, the collection began earlier, since Peter the Great ordered that all the boats out of the shipyards have a reduced model. More than 1,500 boats are exposed, as well as flags and other objects that evoke the whole history of the Russian navy. Attention Vasilievsky Island is underserved not the subway, in any case of interest. Passage through the museum forecourt however unavoidable during a visit of the city, and if you are sure the Palace Square, seeing off is minimal.

Located at the end of the island Vassielski, the museum is housed in a building that was once the prize of St. Petersburg. The collection, one of the oldest in the city, was formerly housed in a wing of the Admiralty, on the other side of the Neva. If the museum dates back to 1805, the collection had begun, since Peter the Great had ordered all boats of the shipyard a scale model. More than 1,500 vessels are exposed, as well as flags and other objects that evoke the history of the Russian navy. Warning, Vasilievsky Island is well connected but has no meter. You can take a walk through the museum plaza is inevitable and a tour of the city, and if in the Palace Square, walk the diversion is minimal.
