A delightful walk

In reality, the fountains or pools that have formed here are spectacular. You'll enjoy each and every one of them. The path they made is great and anyone can follow it up to the top, even the elderly. Many people come to see the waterfalls and enjoy a moment in nature, but now you have to pay for everything (parking, to see the sights, to enter in certain areas…). It’s a truly delightful walk, but a little expensive for my liking.

Once in Callosa d’en Sarria, just follow the signs to get to the falls. It should only be about a 5 minute car drive.

I’ll definitely go back

Algar Falls is located between the many municipalities of Callosa d’Ensarria y Bolulla. It’s a beautiful place. It was my first time there and I absolutely loved it. I’ll definitely go back!

It’s essentially a chain of natural springs and waterfalls coming from the mountain and flowing into the Algar river that have formed some small lagoons. Although this natural paradise used to be open to the public free of charge, tourism and heavy traffic have led to entrance fees being charged to those who want to visit. It costs 3€ for adults and 1.50€ for kids. There are also several parking areas where you can leave your car, for 3€, of course. It’s not that bad considering there are guards who watch over your car and the price is for the whole day.

Just before entering in the facility, there’s a small restaurant to eat at (you can’t bring food into the Algar Falls park, as they’re trying to conserve it as best as possible). There’s another restaurant just a little bit down the road with a pool for paying customers.

As you can imagine, the water is really cold, since it comes from the river. You have to be pretty brave to jump in. It’s best to ease yourself in little by little.

I would recommend that you go with sports sandals, as there are some slippery rocks.

I hope you like it!!

One of a kind place

Very close to Benidorm or Altea, but located more towards the mountain, lies one of the most important secrets of the area: Algar falls. The first time you visit you have no idea that you’re about to stumble on a waterfall of that size. It’s worth the trip just for that alone! But even after visiting, you’ll keep wanting to go back to see it again and find things you haven’t seen before.

It’s perfect for a day or half-day trip to go swimming in the mountain’s river. Bring a sandwich or grab something from the food and beverage stands and take a dip in the lagoon. It’s amazing, beautiful place.

A magical site in alicante ...

One of the most beautiful locations of Alicante, and I did not know ... A place to enjoy with family, friends, partner, or simply to enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of the river Algar, read a book under the shade of the trees .... or just enjoy the wonderful nature. For € 4 that charge entry (which does not seem expensive, since it is designed to natural care, and they have very well ...) You can spend all day, swim, eat at a wonderful picnic than a no equipped, with many tables, shade-coffee machines, soda .... 10 ...

Algar valley and cultivation nsper

The visit to the Algar is to make the trip a circuit of 1.5 km long ascent and descent along the riverbed Algar ("cave" in Arabic) to see the fruit of the karst landscape of rock limestone that forms the spectacular waterfalls, numerous sources springs that flow from the rock, the "tolls" (pools of water) where you can enjoy refreshing baths pure and crystalline waters, formerly considered "health source," the former dam, canal and ditches impressive centennial still in use, immerse you in a murmur of water sounds and stay engrossed watching and feeling this magical atmosphere. The wealth generated by this flow of water, to create gardens and fields and convert this area into a garden with an abundance of persimmons, awning-covered fields that give a uniqueness to the landscape.

Nice river tour.

On a beautiful winter day very quietly visited this picturesque spot. Ample parking, clear waters, waterfalls with relaxing sound, care travel 1.5 km. length ending in a botanical garden and arboretum with a collection of herbs. In summer should be a very different thing, especially as regards the number of visitors.

Bonito recorrido fluvial.

It is a natural spot for tourism occa...

It is a natural spot for tourism occasional conditioning. You just climb stairs and walk about 100 meters from the river, enjoying a waterfall, 10 meters high, small rapids, small lakes and reservoirs where even a trampoline is installed in an area where the river has a lot of depth. There are areas of the river where you can leave the kids at your leisure as most depth is only about 20 to 30 cm and can even see some small fish harmless. There is even an area upstream where hardly anyone goes, about 40 m from where it seems that the end of the Lido, where you get to a river with current loose, but deep and the water passes through a large cave, between two steep and rocky mountains. The water is very cold but after a while they can support and enjoy a beautiful place with lots of vegetation. There are many restaurants in the area and paid parking (3 € all day if not eaten anything).

Beautiful natural enclave

Beautiful area with many restaurants, ideal for Sunday. Inside is full of waterfalls and pure nature, crystal clear waters, somewhat expensive (it cost 4 euros entry). My experience was positive, as it is a natural setting that is hard to see in the sense that these cascades are rare.

Timo with car parks restaurants

After some time, much truth, that did not come back here, but being in the neighboring Altea, I could not resist going back to do some video footage and a photo. Of course if it is Sunday, a good option is to stop and take a look at the market of La Nucia. Well, follow the signs to Fonts de l'Algar and begins a series of parking lots, municipal imagine, empty clear, we are in the middle of January, I would not dream land here in season, apparently seen. After several hundred meters cartel appears wildly misleading, SOURCES OF Algar, but no sources or anything, you park, you get to pony up two or three euros, depending on season, and you have to climb 500 meters uphill through a landscape of bland restaurants with their respective pools empty and lonely, and at the end of the path you see the entrance to the sources with free parking at the door. Then you notice the big sign noting that puts tiny restaurant in the valley. You are warned! I send the material, in the end it was worth it.

Inland, away from benidorm and altea,...

Inland, away from Benidorm and Altea, there is a magical place. Les Fonts de Algar offers a great place to relax. Rich in greenery, this is an ideal place for swimming (if you do not mind the cold!) Or walking. Flowers, waterfalls and children's laughter mingled for a true moment of pleasure. Many people in the summer. Very little to do around. Some restaurants and plenty of parking! Many steps, not accessible to people with reduced mobility, or strollers (we have experienced ...)

Bao very refreshing

A beautiful place, but too many people. We went on a Wednesday and I do not imagine as will the weekends. Make case the commentary (thanks Anadel) d down, as parking is a ripoff. If you climb to the top is the free entry to 4 pq € is already expensive enough. Q Anyone have an advantage there plot yt pull charge leave the car, what restaurants to t included in the price of the menu. Otherwise the site is very good, the boots essential or some kind of slipper closed. Essential bathing under the waterfall throw even if q value. Worth it?

The sources of algar is a wonderful r...

The sources of Algar is a wonderful rincn. Some pools with waterfalls and incredible casacadas, and enabled to make jumps with a lifeguard zone. They have a picnic area, quite small and you can not eat inside. A bar on one of the inputs (there are two) ... And while parking according'll see coming, there's one at the end of the road, the most high of all it is free, although parking lower you say no . Besides that is next to the entrance to the picnic, so here to carry the food is the best option. Worth up early, especially some parts as the first waterfall ....
