The gulf of padirac

The famous caver Édouard Alfred Martel discovered the gulf of Padirac and its river and explored 2400 metres of it. I've visited few stranger caves. With a huge cavity, it is necessary to use stairs or a lift to get to the topp, and the boat ride on the inside as it rains in the cave is just wonderful. The pit was formed after a collapse of the vault but no-one knows when this happened. It is a natural cavity of 75 metres which opens on the surface of the limestone plateau of Gramat Lot and below this there is an underground river. The ride starts 103 meters underground. After landing in the hall of Lac de la pluie, the visit continues through the Grands Gours room, the Room of the Grand Dôme, whose dome rises 94 meters high with its Lake Superior located 27 meters above the riverbed. Visiting time is about 1 hour 30 minutes for a distance of 2000 meters.

Amazing natural phenomenon

It was a shame to take the route from Belgium to hear me say that the gap is closed in March ... I have therefore been able to see "that" fall itself to the bottom of the precipice, which was already worth the hour drive from Cahors, especially as the surroundings are enchanting. The gulf is a crossing of an underground river in beautiful caves that can be visited by boat during the summer. Caves that continue for miles, only nature has decided it would be the part that would collapse, collapse happened at an unspecified time in history, or more likely prehistory. I wonder if a guy was there when for some reason a whole section of land has decamped but it should not take off! Today remains a huge circular hole 35 meters in diameter and 103 meters deep, and an attraction not to be missed during a visit in the Lot!

Another star tourism lot: the padirac...

Another star Tourism Lot: the Padirac. Padirac is still ranked first heritage site in French land and why. This huge hole to the bowels of the earth is the look and deserves tail tourists eager to see what's going on inside! It's magic, it comes down to 103m depth in an elevator or walk and take a boat to sail on a underground river a disconcerting turquoise. Then we walk in caves and grottoes you arrive in a real inner cathedral 94m high with stalactites and stalacmites everywhere including the largest measuring 75m high! Here is the majesty of the place amazes!

Journey to earth's core

We can not take pictures inside (on the lakes), but you have to trust me: this is an unforgettable program. The Gouffre is a deep opening in the land, with a series of caves or tunnels, with part of the journey on foot and another boat. Is in the middle of the French countryside in the Lot, you arrive in 25 minutes from Rocamandour (which was out). The visit is guided and does not need special clothing (perhaps a coat), and the place is beautiful! A number of rivers and underground lakes, incredible rock formations. You will feel entering the womb of the earth. It's very strong and magical. Go! ps.: say the summer has a little row, but you can buy a ticket by the site Gouffre Padirac.
