Marshal Tito Square

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful and spectacular things to see in Zagreb, and in particular in the lower Habsburg city. At the centre is the majestic Croatian National Theatre, surrounded by a beautiful garden with flower beds. Across the street is the imposing Museum of Arts and Crafts. On the left side of the National Theatre is an interesting neoclassical building that houses the Faculty of Law, and nearby, the Croatian Museum of the School. On the other side is the University of Zagreb. This is a huge square, so your eye will wander from the gardens to the different monuments. Until the early 1800s, the whole area was an unhealthy swamp.
