A little adventure

Climbing Mount Abantos (right in front of El Escorial), one can have a wonderful time with the arrival of winter and the first snowfall. There are plenty of routes you can have super-fun with road cars or quads. As you'll see in the photos, fun is guaranteed. That's right, do not ever take your adventure without the right car.

Horizontal mount abantos

El Escorial, the height of the building EUROFORUM, we began a walk along the slopes of Mount prions, stopping at the Ark of Ferny, unique building of the sixteenth century, when the Monastery of El Escorial, built on the Ferny Creek is built with berroqueña stone blocks water purification Brook Ferny it is named. Very well maintained, inside three piles of granite dacantan water by filtering appreciated. We continued climbing switchbacks, reaching the First Horizontal and continuing down the road to the Second Horizontal. The effort of the climb up the steep hillside is rewarded with fantastic views of the mountains and San Benito Machotas, reservoirs or Valmayor Batan, and the impressive building of the Monastery

The best views of the monastery

He had always been very aware of the mountAbantos for two reasons: the first is the significant presence from San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the second that since childhood I have always seen the Tour of Spain and the rise to prions was a queen stage than ever I was missing. There is a road from the arch of the Monastery of El Escorial right onto a road that goes between houses (not easy so if you get lost or are in doubt it is best you ask, will guide the local people). Best its spectacular views of one of their viewpoints. And of course highly recommended for a good walk or cycle route to the slope (and belonging to Avila).

Where lie the best!

All who live in this great town we know our Mountain prions saved thousands of souls who loved her and now she protects them. Up and walking is learning to love every stone and every tree, every way ... If our monastery attracts visitors, I hope you do not stop to contemplate the wonderful nature that surrounds them!

Was the Archbishop of Oviedo, D. Benito Sanz y Flores, impeller construction of a monumental temple Covadonga returned to the splendor of yesteryear. Having ordered two planes to Roberto Frassinelli, the final draft was eventually realized with his successor - Federico Aparici. Construction of the temple began in 1877 and the sanctuary was blessed and inaugurated on September 7, 1901. A true wonder for visiting!
