Leading figure in the French navy

In the heart of Nantes, opposite the Town Hall, Admiral Halgan Square is very nice place to relax after a tour of the center. Admiral Halgan (1771-1852) was a the leading figure in the French navy in the late eighteenth century / first half of the nineteenth century. He commanded several ships, such as brick-war Hawk, the birthplace of the corvette, a veteran ship and the ship of the line during the Great War against the British. As a commander with good map knowledge he won many battles against the English. He was given the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor in 1845. At its center is a statue
