Para llegar a “Arab Murtabak”, basta con seguir la calle “Arab St” desde Nicoll Highway hacia la famosa mezquita del sultán. Una vez en la calle North Bridge, el cartel verde con el nombre del restaurante en inglés y árabe aparece claramente a la vista a mano derecha. Hay mesas tanto dentro del establecimiento como en una pequeña terraza techada que hace un poco más llevadero el insoportable calor de Singapur. Un platillo de “Murtabak” vegetariano cuesta 5 dólares de Singapur (poco más de tres euros). Por otro lado, preparaciones más sencillas como el “roti canai” de origen malayo, comienzan en SGD$2 (1, 30 euros). Una comida completa rara vez supera los cuatro euros por persona. Además de los deliciosos platillos, el “Arab Murtabak” ofrece la bebida más famosa de Malasia y Singapur: el “Teh Tarik”, que contiene leche condensada y es “tirado” varias veces para estimular su sabor.
