Balnakeil Bay

This 3.2-mile bay is next to the village of Durness and can easily be reached by road. Next to the parking lot, there's a huge house and the ruins of the Church of Balnakeil and its surrounding cemetery. The seemingly endless beach with fine white sand eventually arrives at military training base in Cape Wrath. Submarines are tested here and radar was installed here in the 50's. A beautiful bay that is especially wonderful at sunset.
