Absolutely alone
In the Central Highlands, in Vietnam, near the Laos border, you'll come across an unexpected gem: Lak Lake. We spent the night in a hotel which was the private residence of the last emperor of Vietnam, Bao Dai hote. We were absolutely alone and enjoyed the emperor's room with breathtaking views of the lake, because the hotel is perched on the hilltop. Maximum comfort and air conditioning. Although the morning we got a surprise: we awoke to the sound of thousands of cicadas!
