Augustinian Monastery Santissimi Quattro Coronati

Il Monastero Agostiniano dei S.S. Quattro Coronati sorge ai piedi del colle Celio nell'omonimo rione romano. Questo complesso ecclesiastico non è molto conosciuto, un gioiello nascosto messo in ombra dai vicini Colosseo e Fori Imperiali. Si raggiunge da piazza S. Giovanni imboccando la stretta stradina che prende il nome dal Monastero e si resta affascinati dall'imponenza della costruzione medievale come se fosse un'antica fortezza più che un luogo di culto. Ospita una delle più antiche comunità monastiche, le monache agostiniane, presenti sin dal 1560. Oltre alla classica visita guidata (consultate giorni ed orari con esattezza) è possibile anche trascorrere dei giorni di ritiro spirituale all'interno del complesso vivendo a contatto e pregando con la comunità di monache.

The Augustinian monastery of Sts Four Crowned located at the foot of the hill Celio homonymous roman district. This church complex is not well known, a hidden jewel overshadowed by neighboring Colosseum and Roman Forum. It is reached from Piazza San Giovanni and take the narrow street that takes its name from the Monastery and is fascinated by the imposing remains of the medieval building as if it were an ancient fortress more than a place of worship. It houses one of the most ancient monastic community, the Augustinian nuns, present since 1560. In addition to the classic guided tour (see dates and times exactly) can also spend the day retreat within the complex living in contact and praying with community of nuns.

Située dans le quartier du Colisée et à deux pas de la Basilique Saint Clément, la Basilique des Quatre Saints couronnés est un édifice classique impressionnant. La basilique aurait été construite au quatrième siècle et est composée de deux cours intérieures et d'une tour centrale, lui conférant des accents de forteresse médiévale. La basilique est dédiée à quatre martyrs anonymes qui auraient été exécutés sur ordre de l'Empereur Dioclétien, au 3ème siècle.
