Benaque

Benaque is a hamlet in Macharaviaya, about 2 km away from the town. Although the name is of Arabic origin, this village existed long before. It had its heyday during the Galvez family government. The most important building is the Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, originally Mudejar, and the birthplace of the poet Salvador Rueda, who was born in Benaque in 1857 and whose house has been converted into an interesting museum by the Government of Andalusia .
