Boat Ride on the San Vincente River

The Viñales Valley National Park has the largest cave system in all of Cuba. The highlight is the famous Cueva del Indio, which is crossed by the San Vicente River. At the entrance of the cave you can hire small boats that take you around this underground river. Within the various shapes and forms of the stalactites and stalagmites, as well as paintings and remains of utensils from Columbian Cuban cultures. The cave is named after a cave painting in which an Indian can be seen smoking a pipe. This interesting site is approximately 5.5 km from the town of Viñales, just before reaching San Vicente, near the road to San Cayetano Viñales.
