Discovering Cala Coves

If you want to live a magical moment, I recommend heading to the Calas Coves. It’s one of the most beautiful places to enjoy the sea: it’s a series of over 100 artificial caves that were used in the 9th century as a burial ground and were a site of pilgrimage up until the Roman era.

Later on, the caves were used as a base for diving and some fishermen even set up homes in the caves. Today, it’s a preferred destination for leisure boats and it has a combination of history and natural beauty unlike many other places in the world. It has optimum marine conditions and is perfect for snorkeling and diving.

I guarantee you’ll love it

This cove is located at the end of a landing which leads to the cove itself. The cove is located between two cliffs full of caves that were once a prehistoric necropolis and later were home to a collective of hippies, who, I believe, were kicked out since they were considered to be damaging the prehistoric caves.

The beaches are made of stone and aren't as pretty as the rest of the coves on the islands, but it’s worth it to go for the caves and to take a quick dip in the sea.

It’s a nudist cove and was once the principal nudist cove in Menorca. I should also mention that there are no nearby buildings.
