Castelbuono Castle

Castelbuono literally means "great castle", so I can imagine that people born around the castle are similar. Construction began in 1316, by order of Francesco I of Ventimiglia, on the ruins of the ancient city of Ypsigro, on San Pietro hill. Its construction is a strategic administrative situation, as the hill is not high enough. Its cube shape is reminiscent of Arabic architectural with square towers, but integrated into the facade, reflecting the Norman style architecture. Likewise the battlements and round tower is similar to the architecture during the time of Frederick II.
