1 review of Cervantes Street

Pure Golden Age

Excellent

Las Letras is a neighborhood of muses, but there is one specific street that stands out because of its historical and cultural value: Cervantes Street. Here we can find one of the hidden jewels of the Golden Age, the House-Museum of one of the biggest geniuses of Spanish literature, Lope de Vega. You can have a private tour, but you must book in advance. Lope de Vega wrote about his house: “my little house, my stillness, my little orchard and my study”. And just as one is completely immersed in this wonderful place, one realizes: but we are in Cervantes’ street!

Again, in this literary neighborhood, these two great rivals share a street and place of life and death…funny twist of destiny. Further along, after walking through this beautiful pedestrian street full of facades of vibrant colors and curious shops, we reach another important place: the spot where the great Cervantes lived and died. It is another beautiful façade with a monumental inscription that reminds us of his time there.
