Chamundeshwari Temple

Certainly the most important temple in the town. It is on the top of the Chamundi Hills, about 12 km from the palace city of Mysore. The temple is dedicated to Sri Chamundeshwari, the titular deity of the royal family of Mysore. Possibly the original temple was constructed in the 12th century, while the tower is from the 17th century.
