Recorrer las calles de Arlés es transportarse unos siglos atrás e imaginarse al holandés pintor desorejado paseando su locura por plazas y rincones y dejándose inundar por el color de Provenza que luego plasmó en sus oleos. No es extraño imaginar el impacto que tuvo en Van Gogh el cromatismo y vitalidad de la ciudad del Ródano, la atmósfera desenfadada y plagada de vida que se traspasa de las tierras de viñedos a los adoquines de sus calles y a cada uno de sus cafés y tiendas callejeras. La otra seña de identidad de la vieja Arlés además de su herencia pictórica y de renombre gracias a Van Gogh es su pasión por la Tauromaquia. Famosas son las Arenas de Arlés, el anfiteatro romano ahora en plena restauración donde se celebran corridas de postín. No en vano, es muy fácil encontrar bares con decoración taurina: carteles, banderas e incluso un toro en el tío vivo de la ciudad... de hecho el Toro es incluso el protagonista del cartel del afamado festival de fotografía que cada verano se celebra en Arles. Como apunte final y cercano al impresionante Ródano nos encontramos un área gratuita para autocaravanas donde pernoctamos con increíble tranquilidad en la que incluso se puede recargar agua y depositas aguas grises gratis. Walking the streets of Arles is transported a few centuries ago and imagine the Dutch painter walking his madness earless squares and corners and letting the color flood Provence then reflected in his oils. Y mucho más si los pintores impresionistas franceses son tus preferidos como es mi caso, en Arlés se pueden observar los lugares desde donde van Gogh pintó los hoy tan afamados y carísimos cuadros. Cuadros que un día fueron despreciados y hoy ni siquiera los Estados pueden comprar. Están señalizados unos 10 lugares: la plaza del Forum por Le café le soir; el puente de Trinquetaille; el muelle del Ródano (quai du Rhône) por nuit étoilée; la plaza Lamartine por la maison jaune; el patio del Espace Van-Gogh para (Le) jardín de la maison de santé; y la carretera a lo largo del canal de Arlés a Bouc para las Lavanderas. El anfiteatro y la necrópolis de Alycamps aparecen también en varios de sus cuadros.

And much more if the French Impressionists are your favorites as I do in Arles you can see the places where Van Gogh painted the now so famous and expensive paintings. Pictures that were once despised and today even the states can buy. They are about 10 places marked: Forum Square by Le café le soir; Trinquetaille bridge, the quay of the Rhone (quai du Rhône) by nuit étoilée; Place Lamartine by maison jaune, the courtyard of the Espace Van Gogh for (Le) jardin de la maison de santé, and the road along the canal for Arles to Bouc Sandpipers. The amphitheater and the necropolis of Alycamps also appear in several of his paintings.
