1 review of Domus Municipalis

Important civil building

The Domus Municipalis is one of the city's most important civil buildings, it's unique in the peninsula, dates from the late medieval period (1501) and is a National Monument of Portugal. It's inside the Citadel, right next to the Church of Santa Maria and is a 2-storey Romanesque building but you can only visit the the floor that's at street level, called "Casa da Camera" and is used for meetings. Highlights include multiple windows and capitals, each one different. Below is the Living Water Tank that stored rain water.
