Dover

In general you go to Dover to take a ferry across to Calais. Dover is a small town built under stunning white cliffs with houses dug into the rock. A few years ago, a large port was built to bring people and goods from the continent, when Dover was just a sleepy little town on the south coast of England, an hour and a half from London. With the number of ships and ferries leaving from there every day, you don't go swimming. But the region has a lot of beautiful nature, and is perfect for hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities. It is said that in England it is always raining and the weather is bad, but spring is particularly nice for exploring the region.
