Entrance to Petra

Once you get past the access gateway to Petra (where you pay about 20 dinars a day entrance but you can buy discount tickets valid for several days), there is a path which takes about an hour during which time you can already appreciate the beauty of the place. If you do not want to walk, you can always go down to the Siq by horse or donkey, but it is really worth the trip. This is an appetizer for what remains to be seen, but it is in itself fascinating.
