In China most of the time the Youth Hostels, hostels or international organization YHA hotels have several floors which are strictly reserved for members. My experience in China is that they tend to be clean, centrally located, and most importantly, a member of the staff always speaks English, which is not usual for cheap hotels in China. The Feiying is situated reasonably close to Tiananmen Sqaure, and it is very close to where you take the bus to the airport, and it is also close to the train station. You can find dorm rooms or a double room for a good price. The Beijing International youth hostel seemed the best in terms of the price / quality ratio, offering cheap priced and also activities such as visiting theaters acrobats, The Great Wall of China, etc.
