Feria Square

La Plaza de Feria se encuentra muy cerca del [poi=56979]Castillo de Niebla[/poi]. Resulta sorprendente su amplitud al llegar a ella, pues las calles que desembocan en esta plaza son bastante estrechas. Su nombre es debido a que en esta plaza se celebran las ferias y festividades de la localidad, como la Feria del Mar (en Mayo), la Real Feria de Ganado o la de Tosantos (Noviembre). En esta plaza se encuentran las sedes de los diversos partidos políticos, así como el Centro Municipal de Servicios Sociales. En el medio de la plaza se encuentra el monumento a Alfonso X el Sabio, consistente en una especie de obelisco de piedra con la imagen de Alfonso X flanqueado por dos leones. Fue quien reconquistó la ciudad para el cristianismo en el año 1.262, y le otorgó el título de Fuero Real. La batalla, que duró 9 meses, es célebre por ser la primera vez que se usó la pólvora en España.
