3 reviews of Flagstaff

A good starting point for visiting the Grand Canyon

Great

The city of Flagstaff is quite a modest place. There are no skyscrapers. Instead, there are about 4 blocks by 4 which form the "old" part of the city, and its center. Actually, some of the buildings may remind you of an old western movie. If not, then you will find that they are fairly quiet streets during the winter, spring and fall (I have not seen what it is like during the summer tourist season!), with several bars, some restaurants, a small square to rest, and especially hotels, supermarkets, a train station and travel agencies to go to the Grand Canyon. Flagstaff in effect is the basis for Canyon trips (although it takes about 1:30 to get there, going to the north).
