Of Touristic Interest in New York
Empire State Building
Most wonderful experience!
Squares in New York
Times Square
Times Square is the most emblematic square in New York. Surely if you have ever been, you know what it is like. Its triangular shape, the giant, bright advertisments on the buildings, the New Yorkers screen announcing the end of the season and the start of a one, I've seen it more than once. If you have the chance to travel there, you can also look for webcam, at Times Square is the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Broadway. It is surrounded by theaters, where you can watch up to date music as well as long running shows like Cats, Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera, which have been running for over 20 years. The place that never sleeps, and there's always more crazy men singing, people celebrating simply being there, or an event sponsored by a major brand. To not miss what happens in the stock market or anywhere else in the world, you can take a look at the screens of NASDAQ, the American Stock Exchange Index, or put on live news. In this mecca of American culture, you can find everything imaginable that says "United States." The Hard Rock Cafe, McDonald's, Burger King, XXXXL clothing stores, souveniers for New York baseball teams, and more.
Gardens in New York
Central Park
We spent 6 days in total during our stay on American soil, and it took us 5 days to finally set foot in Central Park! I planned this visit quite late in our itinerary, as there was so much else I wanted to see, and in the end it proved to be a lucky decision, as the last two days of our stay were the sunniest! After entering through the North Entrance, we could see many, many pools, and many dog walkers, with 5 to 10 dogs each, awesome! It was a great place to go for a walk.
Bridges in New York
Brooklyn Bridge
Awesome, overwhelming, amazing ... There aren't enough adjectives to describe how it feels, not only to see the bridge, but to see it from inside the city itself. All the skyscrapers struggle to protrude above each other, but they fail to diminish the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. I was on it for about two hours, seeing as it was evening, and I tried to take some pictures that reflected what I saw from this location. Amazing, inspiring, great, awesome, majestic, friendly, bustling, classic, exciting, overwhelming, etc. The English word that best describes the feeling of being there and the views you can enjoy is AWESOME!! Something every travel lover should see in their life :)
Statues in New York
Statue of Liberty
I couldn't miss the chance to see the Statue of Liberty and my experience was great. We took advantage of our CityPass and headed to catch the ferry in Battery Park. After waiting between 15 and 20 minutes, we boarded the ferry that took us to the island. It was spectacular to stand at the foot of the Statue of Liberty, and of course, to enjoy the wonderful views across the skyline of lower Manhattan and the view of the famous Brooklyn Bridge.
Shopping Centres in New York
Rockefeller Center
The tall skyscrapers of NYC over the endless flow of pedestrians.
Canyons in Gran Cañón Village
The Grand Canyon
Is it still really necessary to present the Grand Canyon? I doubt it. This canyon dug by the Colorado River is one of the seven wonders of nature and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. We arrived at the Grand Canyon National Park at 7pm because the best times to see the canyon are at sunrise and sunset. A friend told us, "I went to the Grand Canyon several times, and each time I saw something different." That's right, the diversity of shadows and lights offered by changing sun are breathtaking. You will soon feel very small. The Grand Canyon is obviously a must! You can't miss it!
Viewpoints in New York
Top of the Rock
Before coming to New York a friend told me to go up to Top of the Rock, which is much better than the Empire State. Well, I listened. It is wonderful to see Manhattan virtually from the sky. I suffer from vertigo so I stayed about 3 feet away from the glass, and it was worth it. We were there in the morning, at about 11:00 and the truth is that it was a treat because there were no lines and very few people went up. The price if I remember correctly is about $20 for each adult.
Bridges in San Francisco
Golden Gate Bridge
If you're visiting the American West, this is a must-see attraction. It's an unforgettable 1280 meters. The vibration caused by the passing cars only increases the shock of seeing the red mass supported by cables over the sea. Meanwhile, the Pacific mist falls in waves around you ripping the vision of the slopes of San Francisco, producing that magic so characteristic of the city.
Museums in New York
National September 11 Memorial & Museum
The 9/11 Memorial Preview Site, as its name suggests, is a space dedicated to the memory of the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. Here everyone can follow the progress of the work of the World Trade Center, the complex of buildings that are being built in Ground Zero, as well as recall that moment that changed the history of the United States and the world. The museum opened in 2009, and more than one million visitors have passed through it. Access hours are from 10 am to 7 pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday. Admission is free, and as there are only a couple of rooms, you don't need much time to visit the museum.
Train Stations in New York
Grand Central Terminal
Grand Central Station was the first railway station to be built in the city, at a time when people still preferred travelling by horse, and prostitutes still walked up Park Avenue ... With the development of the city it was decided to promote railway network, and they built this immense building in a classical style, and is still used by thousands of people travelling every day! I found the place using a free guided tour that is given on Fridays and I can only advise you to follow the guide if you are interested to know more than what you can learn with a book tour! Here is the information for the visit: The tour itself is all in English, and with some people can last up to 2 hours, so consider planning your day around it!
Museums in New York
Metropolitan Museum of Art
The second floor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in Manhattan contains a collection of European paintings, one of the world's best collections. With 2200 pieces, this museum has many of the world's most recognizable paintings. The MET has a vested interest in European masters of the 16th to 19th centuries, specifically French, Italian, and Dutch masters. Among the paintings in the collection include works by Goya, Vermeer, Brueghel, Velazquez, Jean Louis David, Dick Van Eyck, among others. There are many rooms to visit, but the European painters collection should be among your top choices.
Theme Parks in Orlando
Walt Disney World
The castle is the centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It's 57 meters high and it's the tallest structure in the park and was one of the original attractions at the theme park to open in 1971. The castle has a traditional design with a French moat and 18 towers and 13 gargoyles. Stroll down the main corridor of the castle and see the Cinderella story in 5 detailed murals. Cinderella Castle is the ideal location to see Disney characters throughout the day.
Shops in New York
M&M's World
The truth is that this place is amazing, both for those who like the famous chocolate sprinkles and those who do not, it is a journey most enjoyable and entertaining. I uploaded some pictures of the place inside as well as some videos of the giant screen on the outside so you can see the creativity of the place.
Nature Reserves in Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite is one of the most famous U.S. national parks, so make sure to reserve your spot early! The ideal time to go is in spring or early summer when the falls are at their peak. It's a spectacular show of water, sound, and the sheer force of nature. There's also free bus service to take you to the different points of interest in the park. We spent three full days hiking and there were lots of different routes to choose from ranging from simple strolls to challenging trekking and even rock climbing. It's all very well put together and visitor-friendly, but there is still plenty of spaces where you can be alone and enjoy the silence and tranquility of nature. Don't miss the view from Glacier Point! It's incredible!
Amusement Parks in Lake Buena Vista
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is one of the first of the Disney parks that opened in Orlando, over 30 years ago. Living in Miami as a child, I was lucky enough to go several times and the last time was 3 years ago when my parents invited their grandchildren to experience this great place. Although the focus is the same, many of the facilities had been updated and improved, including many new attractions. It is a must in Florida to take a trip to Disney World and visit the Magic Kingdom in particular. I cannot do it justice by describing it here so I suggest that you go online to look at the descriptions of the attractions. I recommend it 100%, for both kids and adults.
Viewpoints in New York
New York Skyline
There are few sights which can be said are more impressive in the world than that of the skyscrapers of New York. Despite the gap left by the twin towers, it is still impressive. Especially from Ellis Island or the Island of the Statue of Liberty, a little further. It's nice to spend a while there, just looking. It feels almost magical.
Amusement Parks in Orlando
Universal Studios Orlando
One of the funniest musical shows that i've seen. The best show of Universal Studios in Florida. Beetlejuice and other classic Universal monsters come together in this lively show. It opened in 1992, both studies have the Universal in Orlando and Hollywood, but right now, it only works in Florida.
