Former Artillery Barracks

The Old Artillery Barracks are located in the Plaza Damaso Ledesma. As you may infer by its name, it was originally built for military purposes, to keep the guns and other artillery throughout the XVIII century. It was also used as accommodation for the troops during the War of Independence, and later as a teaching institute. Now it appears to be an unoccupied building. Its most striking feature is its baroque cover of Salamanca, with the royal coat of arms.
