Garganta de Cuartos

This is a large gorge near the village of Losar de la Vera. It’s a totally wild and isolated area in the Macizo de Gredos mountains so you need to bring all the supplies for a full day with you when you go. The gorge is, on average, 7 or 8 meters wide. There’s a bar-restaurant at the very top although we didn't have a chance to stop by. We came from Cabezuela del Valle and the trip took around one hour and 15 minutes. It’s a really worthwhile trip; just keep in mind that the water is really cold!

The Garganta de Cuartos is in the outskirts of Losa de la Vera, making it one of the most visited natural areas in the region. It’s an ideal place for a summer swim since it’s not too far away and the water isn't excessively cold. There are both shallow and deep sections and one part where the people can jump off the surrounding cliffs.
