A magical place

In ancient times this huge pile of strangely shaped granite was a veritable mountain range but, following centuries of erosion by wind and water, it has been significantly reduced. From a distance it may seem like a gentle hill, but as soon as you get close enough to see it well, you will be stunned by its peculiarity. The Great Links Tor (one of the highest points in Dartmoor) is 1924 feet (586 meters) above sea level, and looks like the work of man. It is not the only granite hill in this enchanting area. Many of these wonderful natural sculptures, patiently shaped by time and weather, dot the

Misty moors of Dartmoor, lending even more character to this magical place.
