4 reviews of Güell Pavilions

Dragons, dragons, and more dragons

Great

Another one of Gaudi’s gems lies within the luxurious and residential Pedralbes neghborhood. The Guell Pavilions were built in 1883 and make up a part of the amplification of the farm belonging to Gaudi’s patrons.

At first glance, the first thing you see is the amazing wrought iron dragon that greet you at the entrance gate. The summer house is made up of a magnificent array of bricks, a full variety of colors. You can always find thousands of ways to imitate nature and, in this case, Gaudi recreated the garden of the Hesperides from Greek mythology.

The building currently belongs to the University of Barcelona and includes the Catedra Gaudi. The building forms a part of Barcelona's modernist tour route. Guided visits are offered.
