Ice Sculptures in Ekaterinburg

Passing through central Russia, near the Ural Mountains, I arrived in the city of Yekaterinburg after several hours of travelling by train. Surrounded by snow, I began my journey through icy streets while admiring another example of a Soviet city during my trip. In one of the squares, I stopped to admire a myriad of statues, bridges and labyrinths of ice had been sculpted for Christmas. It was a lovely place to stop and appreciate local Russian families who took advantage of the park to have meetings and play games in the frigid January temperatures. It was an interesting town!
