Small but interesting museum
Nievo ippolito Museum (Venice) has a small but very interesting collection of souvenirs from Nievo. The castle records, preserved in the Fossalta parish archives, indicate that the building dates back to 1265. The museum was dreamt up by Nievo Stanislao; he wanted to exhibit the mementos of his great uncle after the Castle of Colloredo di Montalbano, where they were stored, was destroyed by the earthquake that struck Friuli in 1976. It opened in 1984. The material is on show in 2 rooms, with a hundred pieces including a trunk and some dresses that belonged to Nievo.
