Jiuzhaigou National Park

Despite not being a very well-known destination, you've simply got to see it to believe that such a magical place really exists. Inside the park, you can visit lots of things like waterfalls, lakes, and mountains, but it's the incredible color of the lakes which gets your attention from the start. After marveling at the colors of Five Flowers Lake and passing through the Pearl Shoals waterfall, right when you think that you've seen it all, you arrive at Mirror Lake.

This 720-kilometer valley was declared a World Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site. Getting there is simple: there's a 80-yuan bus which goes through the parks and makes stops in all the main points of interest and even the highest area of the park, Virgin Forest, where you can get off and begin exploring. In every stop, there is a sign telling you the name of the stop and the distance to the next stop, so you can decide if you want to keep with the bus or hike to the next stop.

We flew into Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport which is over 3000 meters above sea level. From there we took a van to Pengfeng village where our hostel was. The village was only 1 km from the park. The next day we visited the park. The first thing that surprised us was the large number of Chinese tourists. The entrance looks like Port Aventura. To visit the entire park takes one or two days (depending on how much you like walking). From the base you have a number of buses that run through the park. You can get off the bus at the top and from there you walk through one of the many trails. When you get tired you can take another bus that leaves you a little lower and walk again.

Tucked away in one of the most beautiful areas of China, this national park is an essential place to visit in Jizaighou! Dozens of magical lakes, sometimes with more than 5 different colors ... Finally, I took some pictures and believe me, they are nothing compared to what it is like in the flesh. Not an easy place to get to, but definitely well worth the effort. This is China!

The autumn scenery in Jiuzhaigou Chengdu is terribly beautiful! The lakes, forests, and the clear sky combine into a colorful world where we can enjoy the Five Color Lakes!
