Juan del Mar

The night we went to this restaurant was the "big night out" of our trip, as it was the only day we actually fixed ourselves up for dinner (ha). We went to Juan del Mar, which specializes in fish, I tell you that because it's in the same place as San Diego (where the Sofitel Santa Clara is). It's a Peruvian food restaurant and a pizza place all by the same owner. They've got really excellent food and service, the prices are too high for Colombia and for my taste. The service is impeccable and very attentive. The place is an old restored house, we ate in the courtyard where there's an old cistern.

Within walking distance of the excellent Zebra Restaurant is where Juan del Mar is located. It's another gastronomic hideaway in the San Diego neighborhood that's not to be missed. Located inside a beautiful colonial house, there's a large terrace and a cozy bar. Juan del Mar is decorated like a large fish tank in celestial tones, with pictures of fish on the walls and hanging from the ceiling.
