Kampong Ayer (Pueblo Flotante)

40000 personas, nada más y nada menos, viven en este pueblo construido sobre el río de Brunei y que según las estadísticas es el más grande del mundo. Esto representa aproximadamente el diez por ciento de la población total del país. Kampong Ayer significa literalmente Pueblo Flotante en castellano. Se encuentra al otro lado del río de su capital Bandar y la única forma de acceder a él es cruzar en bote. Una vez allí, los desplazamientos tienen que ser sobre las pasarelas de madera construidas que conectan todas las casas y edificios del pueblo, o por medio acuático. Lo más sorprendente de todo puede ser que está totalmente equipado. Comisaría de policía, mezquitas, escuelas, etc... ¡Hasta un parque de bomberos! Desde luego es una visita obligada si uno está en Brunei, aunque solo sea por la curiosidad de ver un tipo de vida totalmente inusual.
