These are the Pedrera Cárcabas in Uruguay. It is a moonscape that has been left by a lake that disappeared about 4000 years. At dusk with the light of the moon it seems as though you are walking on the moon with its clean white sands, its craters and canyons that give a deserted appearance.
The quarry is a city in the east of Uruguay in the department of Rocha. It's known for its excellent beaches and nightlife. It's ideal for a holiday with friends. The greatest attraction is its carnival, which is somewhat atypical because the parades aren't organized; whoever wants to be in it can do what they want. The fun attract a lot of people to the main street where everybody is drinking and throwing water and beer. 100% recommended.
