Lagoons of Cañada del Hoyo

The Lagunas de Cañada del Hoyo can be found near the village of the same name. One can see them along with the Torcas de los Palancares, since they have the same origin. However, unlike the Torcas, the lakes are full of water, each one has a different color due to chemical differences and microorganisms. Each one of these three lakes will appear to be more surprising that the previous one.

There are four other lakes on private grounds, which you can see if you pay a fee. Even though I didn't pay to go in, I've heard that everyone says that the most beautiful ones are the ones you can see for free, and that the other ones are not worth the visit.

The Serranía Baja de Cuenca also has a lot of places one must see. The area of Cañada del Hoyo is one of them: a green area where a few lakes have appeared, making the place unique and beautiful. Although swimming in the water is forbidden, it is the perfect place to have a picnic and o tspend some time with family and friends. From La Gitana, the largest one and next to the parking lot, there is a path that will take you on a lovely walk to the rest of the lakes.
