Las Pilas Path

Para los amantes del senderismo, esta es una ruta que estoy segura les va a encantar, ya que su recorrido es fácil y ameno dada la diversidad de paisaje que se puede ver durante el mismo. Esta ruta, nos puede llevar recorrerla unas 4 horas y puedes hacerla con los "peques" ya que no ofrece mucha dificultad. Para salir, tomaremos el camino frente a la cooperativa agrícola Virgen de Monsalud, por un carril que atraviesa una gran llanura de cereales y hortalizas,donde ya podremos ver algunos pozos artesanos. Pasaremos por un puente de origen romano llamado Puente de los Dos Ojos por el que pasa un l arroyo. Seguiremos el camino hasta llegar a las pilas del Cerezal,una fuente natural que sirve de abrevadero para los animales, donde ya empezaremos a ver el “Tajo de la Palomera”, y con un poco de suerte cabras monteses o algún nido de aves rapaces. Bordeamos el Tajo de la Palomera, hasta llegar al cruce donde nos encontramos las pilas del Prado de Herrera, donde empezamos a descender en dirección a Alfarnate. Pasadas estas Pilas, nos desviamos a la izquierda hasta ver las pilas de Barrionuevo,cuyo caño es la boca de un antiguo cañón. Atravesaremos la llamada Loma del Aire donde tendremos unas magnificas vistas de Alfarnate. A la derecha veremos un nogal centenario y antiguas pilas, ya restauradas,así como antiguos restos de edificaciones árabes. Conectaremos con la carretera Alfarnate-Periana y la seguimos unos 200 metros a la izquierda hasta encontrar un carril y llegar al cortijo de Gastarreja, que se encuentra en ruinas, pero merece la pena "echarle un vistazo", ya que es una construcción típica andaluza, con muros de piedra, barro y vigas de madera y nos da una idea de como se vivía en la región antiguamente, Nos desviamos hacia la derecha y todo seguido llegaremos a Alfarnate, donde podrás refrescarte en alguna de sus fuentes..O buscar el bar más cercano y tomarte una caña bien fresquita.
