The madrasa dedicated to the astronomer

Excellent

The Ulugbek Madrassa is the oldest of all, it dates from the 15th century, built during the government of Ulugbek from 1417-1420, date of its completion. Personally highlight its location on the left (west) from the Registan Square, opposite the other two major madrassas of Samarkand such as Sher-Dor Madrassa, opposite and the Tilla-Kari Madrassa just to your left. This madrassa is dedicated to one of the most important people who passed through Samarkand as the mathematician and astronomer Ulugbek, who also was a grandson of Tamerlane. Ulugbek installed during his tenure in this madrassa education center, which even allowed to play chess.
