Mansions in Barrio San Rafael

The San Rafael neighborhood is located in the exclusive resort town of Punta del Este in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay (ROU), on the coast of Playa Brava beach bathing in the Atlantic Ocean. This was one of the first neighborhoods of Punta del Este where they began to construct real mansions where wealthy people from Uruguay and Argentina, especially Buenos Aires, built their summer homes. The first important casino was in this neighborhood because there was another casino on the same peninsula, which still exists, but it was not as luxurious as the one in San Rafael. The houses in this neighborhood, especially those on the coast, as the district extends inward, were the first luxury homes in Punta del Este.
