Inauguré le 16 juillet 1950, le Mardasson célèbre l'amitié durable des peuples belge et américain, étroitement unis par la lutte victorieuse qu'ils menèrent durant la Bataille des Ardennes, en décembre 44-janvier 45. Le monument épouse la forme d'une étoile à cinq branches longues de 31 mètres. Le promenoir, situé au sommet et accessible par un escalier en colimaçon, permet de découvrir une vue panoramique sur toutes les positions défensives tenues pendant le siège de la ville. Entièrement creusée dans la roche et superbement ornée des mosaïques de l'artiste français Fernand Léger, la crypte abrite les autels des cultes catholique, protestant et juif.
Inaugurated on 16 July 1950, the famous Mardasson the lasting friendship between American and Belgian people, united by the victorious struggle they waged during the Battle of the Bulge in December 44-January 45. The monument takes the form of a star with five branches 31 meters long. The promenade, located at the top and accessible by a spiral staircase to discover a panoramic view of all the defensive positions held during the siege of the city. Fully carved into the rock and beautifully decorated with mosaics by the French artist Fernand Léger, the crypt contains the altars of Catholic, Protestant and Jewish.

Instalado en medio del campo es un bonito monumento que está muy cerca d el bosque de Foy. Es de fácil acceso con coche propio. Merece la pena visualizarlo y recorrerlo con tranquilidad, para comprender la importancia que tuvo este lugar en la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Installed in the middle of the field is a beautiful monument that is very close to the forest of Foy. It is easily accessible with own car. It is worthwhile to visualize it and to travel it with tranquility, to understand the importance that this place had in the Second World War.
