Mont-Royal park, home of the rasta and outdoor sports

Relatively close to the heart of Montréal, at the foot of the hill "Mont Royal" and by the "avenue du parc", is one of the biggest parks in the city. On weekends, the Parc du Mont-Royal is the kingdom of the rasta, the hair of every color, martial arts, juggling, picnics, sunglasses and outdoor sport. Although you can find this kind of environment in cities, this is on a very large scale, hundreds of people spend hours of their weekends in the Mont-Royal. But that's not all, there is also the gothic-medieval phenomenon. A clearing in the forest with a dirt floor, surrounded by trees is the scene of battles between medieval crowd of all ages, with shields and swords hand made with soft materials such as foam, faced against each other as a way of fun.

Something very strange to see. The southern part of the park, down the avenue (avenue du parc), has a large baseball field, a large soccer field and volleyball nets some bowl on a green grass very bright.

Mont Royal

It was on March 4, 2009, minus 25 degrees, imagine yourselves getting out of the car to look at the viewpoint when you stop feeling your face, hands, even your knees! The floor was frozen, and I held on the bar so I wouldn´t fall. 5 minutes and running towards the car to the on the heater. There were some nice views, a pretty city, but too cold to handle.

We get lost in there, also was hard to find parking.

Excellent

Mont Royal is the largest park in the city. Typically in the city go to spend Sunday at the park. People gather for hobbies and everyone can do what he likes without anyone forbid or laugh. There is an area where people are meeting tom-toms. Everyone can participate, dance and play however you want, nobody bothers and everyone is welcome. There is another area in which there are people who put ribbons from tree to tree for balancing, no matter you have no tape or conzcas not anyone, come and ask if you can participate, you will be surprised to see how cordially encourage you to try . There is another area where people play frisby, if you bring your own do not be surprised that someone approaches and asks you to play, everyone participates in all activities and is normal to ask let you play. In another innermost zone is a group of people masquerading as "warriors" and simulate a battle. I never entener standards but I understood that courtesy and respect are present at all times. For all that, Sunday is a day to go eat at the park, grab a sandwich, a towel to lie on the grass and go and spend the day quietly.

Walk through the heart of Montreal

At the heart of the third largest city in Canada and the heart of the province of Quebec, we find the famous Parc du Mont-Royal, a park or retreat completely different Central Park but it plays the same role, lung a big city. He looks completely different because unlike the other two mentioned, the Parc du Mont-Royal is literally a mountain in the middle of Montreal. His ways are ideal for jogging, walk, ride a bike or just admiring nature and views. One of its most striking is the large cross that's on top of the mountain, which can be seen from various points of the city at a glance. It has several viewpoints, but two to highlight the Camilien-Houde lookout, from which you can see very clearly an emblem of this city, the 1972 Olympic Stadium and the viewpoint of the Chalet du Mont-Royal from which you have the most stunning view of Montreal and a place you can not miss on our route for this great city.

The town green

Le vert en ville

Excellent
There are few cities in the world where such a quiet place is preserved can be found a short distance of the city center or one of the best universities. And despite all the well-being that can be felt in Montreal or beating the living room in the city throughout the summer, the park is welcome. A good long wide path for joggers, walkers and cyclists up to the top, to Beaver Lake and to the lookout on the downtown, while some wild slalom trails amidst the forests of Mount Royal to join all points, including the Croix du Mont-Royal overlooking the city, clearly visible from the Plateau. Especially behind the cottage Kondiaronk, many open meadows and facing south allow to spend an entire afternoon reading a book, before descending into the beating heart of the city center in a few minutes, a few flights of stairs.

A royal ride!

Une balade royale!

Excellent

Mount Royal is a place not to miss in Montreal. It is in some ways a huge reserve, where all kinds of activities are possible. Most make their footing, others eat a picnic or have a barbecue, others enjoy the sun by a lake, you can also observe the many squirrels ... I've even seen moms do a gym class with strollers (and their baby inside of course), it is to say! The largest cemetery in North America is also on Mt.

The colors of autumn in Montreal

Los colores del otoño en Montreal

Excellent
I started up the mountain roads curvilinear and after half an hour, I reached the top. The view from there is breathtaking. Especially in autumn. Long and full of adventure

Recorrido largo y lleno de aventura

Excellent
A long and adventurous tour but at the same time a serene and pleasant walk to the royal royal you can find the beaver lake, which only has beavers in the name because you will not see one in the lake, which if you will see a beautiful artificial waterfall and many small plates, the royal mont has many paths to hike and discover the coexistence between nature and society

Ballade at Mount Royal.

Ballade au mont royal.

Excellent
A haven of peace in the middle of a metropolis worthy of the great cities of the eastern United States. Located in downtown Montreal, it is very nice to walk among the trees and squirrels that inhabit the park. Bonus in with a great view of Montreal, the St. Lawrence and around from the lookout.
