Monument to João Franco

This monument is in memory of João Franco Ferreira Pinto Castelo Branco, politician and prime minister of Portugal in 1906 and is in a small garden square at one end of Largo da Misericordia. It's a central granite column with a carved Portuguese coat of arms, on which the bronze bust of this character stands. On the sides there are 4 columns of lower altitudes that represent the years of his birth and death (1855-1929) and the beginning and end years of his term (1884 and 1896).
