The city of Porto Vecchio is known for many adventures in the past. It's a different place that the Genoese never got ahold of, unlike what happened with the other. But this was not because of the military forces, but because of disease. The city was constructed on a marsh and malaria spread in the city, which stopped the invaders to adapt to the environment. Of course that was only in the past and present Porto Vecchio hosts many tourists. It is one of the most popular destinations for the stars. The only thing typical about the Genoese empire are the windows that open from the bottom, the walls and bastions.
