4 reviews of Rúa Nova

One of Santiago's most famous streets

This is one of the most famous and important streets in Santiago's old town, along with Rua do Franco and Rua do Vilar. it runs parallel to the latter, and shares the peculiar characteristics of the old town: every day, there's a hippy market in the street. There are all kinds of places - cafes, piercing and tattoo parlous, clothes shops. Among my favorite shops on the street are Vetusta, a used book store where you can find all kinds of interesting things, Pepecillo, the oldest tailors in the city, Sargadelos, the official store of the famous Galician ceramics, Eira, the first organic shops in Santiago, now open for more than a decade, and the Metro Gallery of Contemporary Art.
