Chitwan National Park

7 reviews of Chitwan National Park

Elephant Ride

Several hours by uncomfortable roads bring you close to the Royal Chitwan jungle, in the midst of Nepal. It is a UNESCO protected site because of the number of species of flora and fauna. As well as thousands of birds that birders can spend hours looking at through binoculars there is also a wide variety of plants. But what is most striking is an elephant ride to see the rhinos bathing in the pond. The elephant shouts with his trunk and the rhinos back off. When we go the rhinos return to their pond. With a little luck you can see even tigers.

Rhinos and tigers in Chitwan

Nature lovers! You have to see Chitwan National Park. If only because it's a welcome break along the road from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Wherever you stay (I'd suggest the Sapana Village Lodge in Sauraha), you find a lot of day-trips and activities in the park.

Generally, you can go for one or multi-day safaris in the park by jeep or elephant. Over 800 species of birds like in Chitwan along with rhinoceros, elephants, deer, boar, and even tigers. With a little luck, you'll be able to see plenty of them in their natural habitat.

Heaven

Are you looking for a heaven? It might be in Chitwan National Park. This park provides you the scenic beauty you need to explore and a unique blend of human culture, hospitality, and wild flora and fauna. All you need to do is arrive here and catch a jungle safari team or elephant safari and don't forget binoculars and a perfect camera to capture the natural beauty.

Park in southern Nepal

Just when you think you've had your fill of mountains and rivers, you stumble upon a place like Chitwan National Park that makes you reconsider. We met our boatman in the Royal Chitwan National Park in southern Nepal to go in search of animals. The park has an amazing variety of landscapes and wildlife and even some tribes that have lived here since the dawn of time. Though the tourist industry is well-developed, it's still a natural, humble place.

Harmony between nature and humans.

I had a list of things I expected to see and do before going to Nepal, but it sure was not on that list to see a baby elephant with 3 weeks of life delighting to play in the mud with his mother. The bus ride to Chitwan, leaving the Nepalese capital Kathmandu, is not exactly what I would call a comfortable ride and I can swear that bus walked on two wheels at various times through the highest mountain ranges in the world. Of course, even with tickets in hand, I had no place itself on the bus and left to sit in a corner beside the driver, sharing space with 8 more people entered the cabin anyway I: the window. And that's just some of what you can expect from a trip through nepalenses roads, but needless to say that the trip is worth it - and MUCH! Classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, the Chitwan National Park has a breeding center for elephants in the wild safari park and a village with a rich culture to be shared with visitors. In the park, the elephants became allies in protecting several endangered species such as tigers Bengal, crocodiles, rhinos and even themselves, Asian elephants. This is the result of a harmonious work between rangers, tourists and locals who respect nature.
