Their slogan is "We not only bake cakes, we create deams" and, although it might sound slightly exaggerated, this cake shop is an institution in Barcelona, next to the Boquería market. The website is almost as edible as their products, which you can eat in the cafe next to the shop.
A place to visit, walking on Las Ramblas, is the Pastelería Escribá. The beautiful modernist shop renovated in 1902 was the Casa Figueras and is now part of the modernist and gourmet routes. It is run by the family of the pastry cook Antonio Escribá, known at the time as the "Mozart of chocolate" and it now has a variety of traditional pastry products and a small terrace to taste it.
