Piazza del Plebiscito

57 reviews of Piazza del Plebiscito

One of the largest squares in Naples

One of the largest squares in Naples is the del Plebiscito, in the heart of the city, just steps from the famous Café Gambrinus and among the buildings of the Royal Palace and the Theatre of San Carlos. The square is ellipse-shaped and when it stopped being used as parking space it regained its former prestige of public space where concerts, demonstrations and even Christmas operas are sometimes performed (usually outdoors).

A meeting place

Excellent

Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples is in the heart of the city, overlooking important historical buildings, the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, Royal Palace-one of the two royal residences Bourbon, Palazzo Salerno, Palace of the Prefecture. Over the years the architecture changed. The square has always been a place for historical events, national festivals and a stage for concerts of classical music. The square is not far from the Teatro Carlo and Galeria Umberto. I discovered all its charm especially in the evening when the square fills with people always on the move and the lights shine.

Great place.
