It's all about the eggs.
Podere Cristina is a small agriturismo nestled in the hills of Parma between Langhirano and Traversetolo. They have around 400 free range chickens and are part of a project to save the rare breed Gallina Romagnola.
They have a small Km Zero restaurant with their own eggs featuring in every course. The poetically named 'uova in camicia' (poached eggs) with wild herbs and Parmesan cheese are delicious with bright yellow yolks. Do your bit for chicken welfare and order the tasty polpette, these are made from the chickens that try to peck the others.
