The Rifugio is the last stop on the Alta via number 2. However it can also be reached from Vignui, if you don’t mind the 1600m ascent.
This includes a crossing of the rocky Piazza dal Diavola, which should offer views across the Pale San Martino on a cloud free day. The Rifugio is relatively small and cosy with 22 beds. Do try the fried cheese (Schiz) it is a local specialty.
