The famous "Feast of Saint Martin" in Moana (Rias Baixas) begins on 11th November. The festivities last several days and aside from religious services various activities are organised such as popular games, parades, band performances, bagpipers and a party in the late afternoon. On the eve of the feast the "furanchos" are inaugurated, seasonal stalls usually installed in the basement of homes, where owners sell wine surpluses that have been made for their own consumption. In addition to wine, it is normal to offer roasted chestnuts, pie, tripe, pork and other products typical of the area at this time of year.
