Saint Mary Church

The steeple of this church is famous for tourists, and is fully visible from nearly all the corners of the upper town. It faces the first part of Ivana Tkalcica street, but the front facade can easily go unnoticed, a little bit behind the other buildings, which include some of the liveliest cafes and bars in Zagreb. The church has a very elegant, Baroque style, and has undergone several restorations. The facade is actually very simple, supported by slender columns. Inside is a sculpture of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus.
